An ancient dessert.
Hello it's me Reroyd.
Today while I'm going to buy some drinking water....
I found this thing selling at the ground floor of building.

What is this green thing ?
...
yeah it's ancient Thai dessert, borrowed from China through Vietnam.
It made of rice flour and pandan leaf juice (for natural green color and aromatic).
for the syrup in Thailand it made of coconut sugar or palm sugar, Glucose Syrup (for the consistency) and roasted sesame seeds.
And we called it "ขนมถ้วยจีน" [Kha-nom tuay jeen] (Chinese cup dessert)

Originally in the Vietnam version of this dessert it will come in square shape because they use the big square salver to steam the batter then cut into bite size.
But here in Thailand we have a little cup for making dessert called "ถ้วยตะไล" [Tuay ta-lai] (Talai cup) so we apply it.
As you see when the batter was cooked the hole in the center will appear.
and that hole was very useful ♥

See ♥ I pour the syrup into the hole and finish it so it won't spill while eating ♥
One thing that you should know about this dessert is ....
it's must eat this dessert with syrup, if you lost the syrup you will get a green bitter chunk.
so keep eyes on your syrup.
